Design Inspiration & Drawing
I begin the design process by sketching out my ideas in terms of organic and geometric shapes, I love drawing.I like to go out on adventures, sketching and taking photographs that capture the Northern Irish countryside and in particular the rugged coastlines, sand dunes, rock pools and formations of the wild untouched beaches.
I look for eroded shapes to inspire my jewellery such as a rusted chain or irregularly shaped stone, old boats, churches, gravestones, stone etchings etc. I am intrigued by my own culture and history in County Antrim, the Celtic ancient symbols, religious imagery, patterns and textures that tell a story with history and meaning.
